How much money do Romanian employees want to earn?

The employees working in management positions, followed by IT and construction employees have the highest salary expectations. They believe that their work should be rewarded with more than 4000 lei net per month, according to a study developed by eJobs, the largest Romanian recruitment platform.


On the other hand, the most realistic employees are those working in secretariat & administrative areas, public relations and internet & e-commerce, the difference between the salaries they ask for their work and what the market can offer is quite small.


At the same time, employees with the highest salary expectations are those in managerial positions, working in insurance, architecture or design. In their case, the difference between what the market can offer and the value they want is about 600 lei net, the eJobs study shows.





How much money do Romanian employees want to earn according to the region?


In the Bucharest-Ilfov region, employees earned in 2017 the highest net average salary (3.175 lei) in the country compared to the other regions. They were followed by those in the West who asked an average of 2,903 lei per month for their work.

However, Western employees' salary claims have fallen by 100 lei compared to 2016, when they ranked first in this chapter, surpassing the Capital. Among those with salary expectations of over 2,800 lei are the employees from the Center, North-West and South-East of the country.
